Aloha and welcome to Oahu Mom! This blog is written with the goal of helping families with children discover and enjoy Oahu. Whether you have lived here your whole life, just moved here or are planning a family vacation to Hawaii I believe you’ll find fun ideas and helpful information here.

There is an abundance of information about Hawaii online. Oddly, much of it is written by people who don’t actually live here. Not only do I live here, but I only blog about things I have done with my family so you get a first hand perspective here at Oahu Mom.

A great feature of Oahu Mom is the Weekend Events page where I list family friendly events and activities happening here on Oahu. I update this page each week to help you plan your weekends with your keiki.

About Me

My name is Lisa and I live here on Oahu with my husband and our 7 year old son and 4 year old daughter. I grew up on an island, lived on the Mainland for awhile and am so happy to now call Oahu home. I love it for myself and also think it’s a wonderful place to raise children.

My husband and I have experienced Oahu as active duty military, as civilians, as leeward residents, as windward residents, as newlyweds with no kids and as parents. We’ve lived here 9 years and have no plans to ever leave.

One of my reasons for starting this blog was to motivate myself to get out and explore more of Oahu with my family. My natural inclinations are to be a slave to my ‘to do’ list and stick to my routines. My hope was that this blog would help me get out and have more fun and try new things and it has done that. I hope it will do the same for you.
